Designing a habitat for an engangered species
We have been busy creating a habitat for for the endangered species that we researched. In our design brief we had to think about the animals, the keepers and the public
•How big are they?
•Are they group-living or solitary?
•Are they sedentary animals or very active?
•What wild habitat do they come from? (temperature and humidity.)
•Is the enclosure interesting – do the animals need toys to play with?
•Can you mix them with other animals?
•Need to feed the animals the correct food and provide them with fresh water without the animals escaping.
Naturalistic enclosures are more pleasing to the public and may be better educationally to illustrate the correct habitat.
